In 2007 we planted a church in the town of Condé-sur- Noireau primarily for the relatively large anglophone population in the area. At the moment (autumn 2009) we regularly have about 20 people joining us for Sunday worship. There are others who are less regular in their attendance for various reasons: health, age, unbelieving partner, travel etc. The average sized Evangelical church in France is around 20 to 30. During the summer of 2009, following the Looses' move to the region near to Condé-sur-Noireau, we have started a House Group Bible Study meeting.

During the autumn of 2009 we began Sunday services in another town in the area. This gives us further opportunities to reach out to many more people with the Gospel. We have also started making contact with people who have had little or no previous Christian contact and seen them starting to come along to our services.

Church at Condé-sur-Noireau

We have links with the French Reformed Church in Condé-sur-Noireau, whose building we use for our meetings. These links include regular joint bilingual services. We also put on each December an “English Carol Service”. Over 100 French and English people turn up to join in the singing, and it gives us an opportunity to preach the Gospel in two languages to people who may never have heard it before.

Condé-sur-Noireau is a small town in the centre of a region of Normandy where there is very little in the way of Protestant and Evangelical witness or worship within a radius of around 30 miles. This represents an area of between two and three thousand square miles to which the Gospel must be taken and where we are effectively the only Biblical and Evangelical church group. Both developing the work that we already have established and following the Lord’s directive to take the Gospel to the people of the area through expansion of our ministry need more resources than we currently have available to us.
