Next NV Trustees Meeting
The next Trustees
meeting will take place on Thursday, April 15th at 10.30am. It will be held
at Danbury Mission Evangelical Church, Danbury, Essex. There will be
some important matters to discuss, including the make-up of the
Board of Trustees, so please pray for the Trustees and others
who will be taking part in the discussions.
International Christian Resources Exhibition, May 2010
Normandy Vision will be taking part in this year's International Christian
Resources Exhibition, having taken a stand in the “Sharing Show” zone of the Exhibition
centre.
The 2010 Exhibition will be held at Sandown Park, Esher (SW of London) and is
open to the public from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th May. Monday 10th is the day
for Exhibitors to set up their stand. The organisers are expecting around 13,000
visitors this year, so it should be a great opportunity to meet a large number
of people directly and share with them the work of Normandy Vision.
Bible Exhibition, Houlgate, Summer 2010
As in previous years, we are hoping to organise a Bible Exhibition this summer at Houlgate on the
Normandy coast. Houlgate Evangelical Church is very happy once again to host the Bible Exhibition
and associated events. We have provisionally booked the dates for
this year's exhibition as Monday, July 26th through to Friday, August 20th,
with the Exhibition opening to the public on Friday, July 31st and closing on
Tuesday, August 17th. We are waiting to hear back from the French association that owns
the main Exhibition panels as to whether it will be available for these dates or not before we
can confirm the dates.
Once again we will be looking for volunteers to help out in various ways before, during
and after the Exhibition. So if you are potentially interested in helping at this summer's
Houlgate Bible Exhibition, or would like more information about what's involved, get in
touch with us - contact details can be found at the bottom of this Newsletter.
Becoming a NV Partner
Normandy Vision is looking for
partners who will regularly support their work in a variety of ways. Without such regular,
committed support, Normandy Vision will not be able to continue, develop and expand its ministry in
the region of Normandy in France.
There is
the “Fiver-a-month” scheme, which allows you to sign up to regularly give a £5
unit of support to Normandy Vision each month. Of course, you can sign up for more than
one unit if you want to. More information on this scheme, together with details about other ways
in which you can partner with Normandy Vision, can be found on the
Giving to Normandy Vision page on our web site
at www.normandyvision.org/giving.asp.
Alternatively, you can contact Normandy Vision by one of the ways listed in the

Book Review: “A French Experience” by Monica Stringer
Monica Stringer's recently published book presents in 76 pages
her and her husband's experiences of buying a flat in Normandy, and paints a
wonderful picture of the pleasures - and sometimes the frustrations for the
English visitor! - of what everyday life can be like in this region of northern France.
If that
was all the book did, it would still be worth buying it because of the view
it gives of how different daily life can be just a few miles across the channel.
However the book does a lot more than that, as Monica reminds us that underneath
the surface there is a great spiritual need, a darkness that comes from
life without God, without the Gospel, without hope. Monica presents this reality
through accounts of her experiences and those of others who live in or visit
Normandy and other parts of northern France.
Monica and Michael came to help Normandy Vision with the 2008 Bible Exhibition at Houlgate,
and the book refers to that event on pp.58 and 59.
A French Experience is priced at £3.99 plus 50p P & P. It can be purchased
from 11 Segrave Road, Folkestone CT19 6AY. Cheques should be made payable to “Monica
Stringer”. For more information, contact Monica on +44 (0) 1303 251 401 or by email
at mandm@stringer8.fsnet.co.uk
