Expo-Bible, Houlgate |
Preparations
for this year's Expo-Bible at Houlgate are well under way. The exhibition panels should be arriving towards
the end of July from another
exhibition in the Savoy region of France. A Bible Exhibition is a simple yet effective way within the French
cultural context to reach many people who know nothing of the Bible, the Gospel or the Lord Jesus Christ. |
Hundreds of Tracts and Gospels for free distribution to visitors are on order. We hope to be able to give
each visitor a free copy of the Gospel of Luke in modern French, together with leaflets to help them learn
more about reading the Bible and about God's free gift of salvation in Jesus, and a Feedback Card so that we can
keep in touch with as many visitors as possible in order to follow up on initial contact made at the exhibition. There will be a range of other
tracts from SGM Lifewords for both young people and adults to help them understand more of the Gospel. |
As in
previous years, a large range of Bibles and Christian Books will be available at the bookstall. These again are being
supplied on a sale-or-return basis by CLC in France. |
We will have at least 80 "Bibles for the price of a cup of coffee" - that's 1.50 €, about £1.30 -
to sell to visitors this year. With some visitors it would be good to be able to give them a complete Bible to read. A gift of
only £1.30 or 1.50 € would enable us to place a complete Bible in the hands of someone who has never read it before. |
Due to
the many gifts that we have received recently, some from many thousands of miles away, Philip will be able to spend the month of August in Houlgate at the Expo-Bible. |

Please Pray... |
1. That
all the resources we need: exhibition panels, Gospels, Tracts, Bibles, Books, Feedback Cards - and, of course, those helping at the Expo - all
arrive in time. |
2. That
those travelling to help out at the Expo, and those who live more locally, will be kept safe in their travelling and
during the Exhibition. |
3. That
many visitors will come in and that there will be many opportunities to engage them in conversation in order to be able to share
the Gospel with them - and that the helpers will know the right words to use, especially where
French is not their mother-tongue. |
4. That
many will want to know more about the Bible, about the Gospel, about the Lord Jesus Christ. |
5. That
we will be able to keep in touch and follow up on those with whom we make contact, so that we can continue to help them
and to put them in touch with local churches. |
