TickUpdate: Expo-Bible 2009 at Houlgate

Open!

Expo-Bible 2009All the preparations have been completed and we were able to open for five hours yesterday - the day before the “official” opening date.

We had 34 visitors despite the change in the weather from hot and unbroken sunshine to very windy, chilly and occasional sunny intervals. The beach which had been packed with sunbathing holiday-makers earlier in the week was relatively deserted. The forecast is bad for the weekend too!

Lectures Added to Program

We have been able to add to the Expo-Bible program, with Pastor Pierre Wheeler from Arras coming to give two lectures on the Bible. The first, on Wednesday, August 12th at 8.15pm, will be on the theme of how the Bible has come down to us today. The second, on Thurday, August 13th at 8.15pm, will be on the theme of Archaeology and the Bible.

Pray On!

Please continue to pray for Expo-Bible 2009 at Houlgate, for all those who visit the exhibition, that what they read and see will make an impact on them, that they will take some of the free literature and Gospels, or buy some of the Bibles and other Christian books available on the bookstall, that they will ask questions - and find answers. Pray especially that the Expo will be used by the Lord to open many eyes to the Bible's message, to its eternal truth and up-to-date relevance, to the Gospel and to the salvation that can be found in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

Thank you for the many emails and messages of support and encouragement. We will try and get round to answering each one, but our days are rather full at the moment and we are not always at home!
