Normandy Vision is involved with various areas of Christian ministry and
mission throughout Normandy. Among these is its ministry to English-speakers
who live in the region or who visit it on holiday, particularly during the summer months.
Christian worship services are held regularly at various locations. Up-to-date information
on these can be found in English-language publications such as “The Rendezvous” magazine, or
on this web site.
Normandy Vision is an evangelical protestant organisation, and
the worship services and other meetings reflect this foundation. In addition to its
commitment to the Bible, Normandy Vision seeks to develop a sense of Christian community
among those who regularly are a part of these worship services.
Worship Style
Worship services include Christian songs and hymns, both old and new, readings from
the Bible, prayers, together with a message that explains some aspect of the
Christian faith or a passage from the Bible.
We believe that worship means “Giving God the glory due to his name”, and saying “thank you”
for all the grace and love that he gives to us each day, and especially as seen
in the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. We believe that true
worship can be joyful and meaningful without having to be “entertaining” or “chaotic”. The
singing of hymns and songs, old and new, is typically accompanied by a
keyboard and other instruments.
Communion Services / The Lord's Supper
From time to time worship services include the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion).
All who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus are welcome to share in this time together.
We believe that the bread and wine stay as just ordinary bread and wine.
It is through faith that these symbols become a means of grace
in which we can meet the Lord Jesus Christ in a special, spiritual way
as we share together in a time of remembering what he has done for us,
particularly on the Cross; what he is doing for us now; and looking ahead to his return in glory.
Fellowship
After most meetings there is an opportunity to have a time of fellowship together
over a cup of tea or coffee and a selection of cakes!
All are welcome
All who want to worship God, to learn from the Bible,
and to have fellowship with other Christians are welcome to come along to these meetings.
