Expo-Bible 2008: Prayer Guide

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1.1)

Thank God for his living Word.
The Bible is not just a historical record of a particular people. It is the inspired Word of God. Its author is the living God. The words of the Bible have the power to change people's hearts.

Thank God for the opportunity to hold this Expo-Bible (Bible Exhibition) in Houlgate during the second half of August.
Thank him for those who will be helping with the Expo.
Thank him too for the opportunity to talk with people about what trusting in the living Word means.

Thank God for the opportunity to place the living Word into the hands of others.
Thank him for the Bibles, gospels, books, leaflets, etc. that we plan to make available for people to purchase or receive as gifts. May the living Word be heard as people read, listen to or watch them.

Pray that lives will be changed.
Pray that as people visit the Expo-Bible they would have the opportunity to learn about God's plan of salvation for them, and that through the written word they would come to know its author for themselves.

We will be giving every visitor to the Expo-Bible a copy of one of the gospels. Pray that we will be able to organise this, and that the gospels will be read and will make a saving change in the lives of many.

Pray for the practical details.
This is a very exciting opportunity to present God's Word to people from different backgrounds and nations, many of whom may know nothing of the Bible or its author.

Particularly pray for:

• Finances - particularly for hiring the main Expo panels and transporting them to Houlgate;
• Helpers - that many will come to help, whether locally here in Normandy or from further afield; for their accommodation and feeding...
• Resources - Bibles, gospels, books, leaflets etc. will be needed in at least French and English, for adults and children
• Health, Safety and Stamina - for all those involved in planning, organising, setting up, manning and dismantling the Expo.
• Organisation - for all the practical details and arrangements both before and during the Expo-Bible so that everything will be ready on time, in the right place, and that the eighteen days that the Expo-Bible is open to the public will all run smoothly and without any mishaps.
